Ap­pli­ca­tion se­cu­rity pen­e­tra­tion test­ing, or App­Sec, has been ab­so­lutely vi­tal to ad­vanc­ing mod­ern soft­ware se­cu­rity. But the land­scape has changed. Tra­di­tional pen­test­ing is no longer enough to pro­tect against con­stantly ad­vanc­ing threats. We still bear sig­nif­i­cant fi­nan­cial and rep­u­ta­tional risk posed by so­phis­ti­cated mod­ern at­tack­ers.

We have not adapted our tools with the chang­ing land­scape, and our meth­ods re­main lim­ited as a re­sult. App­Sec re­mains iso­lated from all other soft­ware test­ing re­strict­ing its in­te­gra­tion into soft­ware de­vel­op­ment. As a re­sult, we take longer to dis­cover, fix, and patch vul­ner­a­bil­i­ties ex­pos­ing us to un­nec­es­sary risk.

It is time for new App­Sec tools that em­brace soft­ware's it­er­a­tive na­ture and en­able seam­less in­te­gra­tion with de­vel­op­ment teams. (Re)clar­a­tive is build­ing the tools to move App­Sec for­ward. Set course with us and stay in­formed.
